Yevhen Murzin announced the composition of the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team.
According to inkorr.com: The head coach of the Ukrainian women's basketball team, Yevhen Murzin, announced the lineup of his assistants who will help him during the qualification for the European Championship 2027. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the FBU.
In the coaching staff of the 60-year-old Murzin, Inna Kochubey remained, and Hanna Shlykova joined them. Olena Ohorodnikova, who previously was part of the staff for the Eurobasket-2025 qualification, will play for the Deaflympic national team of Ukraine in basketball in November.
Murzin's Assistants' Career
Inna Kochubey worked at 'Kyiv-Basket' as an assistant coach from 2017 to 2021, and later headed 'Budivelnyk-NUFZSU'. A month before the full-scale invasion, she returned to 'Kyiv-Basket', starting work in the team's academy.
Since 2022, Kochubey has been working as a coach with the Polish club UKS Basket Aleksandrów Łódzki, and this year she led the main team that competes in the third division of the Polish championship. Since 2016, she has constantly been working in the coaching staff of the national women's team and has been managing the youth teams of Ukraine since 2018.
Hanna Shlykova is an experienced coach who has been working for several years at Khmelnytskyi DYuSSh No. 3 and BC Khmelnytskyi. Since 2023, she has been a part of the coaching staff of the women's U-18 and U-20 national teams. Shlykova also successfully coached a team that won the First League in the 2020/21 season and currently competes in the Higher Men's League.
Start of Qualification for Eurobasket-2027
The Ukrainian women's national team will begin its journey in the European Championship-2027 qualification in November. The Ukrainian team has been placed in Group E and will play matches against the national teams of Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan.
The first game will be played away against Montenegro, followed by two home matches in Latvia. The match schedule will be presented below.
Determining the composition of the coaching staff is an important stage in preparing the women's national team for the European Championship 2027. The involvement of experienced coaches such as Kochubey and Shlykova will be key to the success of the team before the challenging preliminary qualifying matches.
