The Ukrainians finished the competition in third place in a competitive group, where they faced strong teams like Serbia and Japan. Head coach Jakub Hlushak expressed confidence in the further development of the team and promised an even more impressive performance in the next season.
Quotes from the Tournament
“We did a great job. The first victory in many years for us – this is very important. This is a very big experience for our team, to play against great opponents – it’s really cool. We were a little short of winning, but this experience is great,” said Valeria Nudga.
“Everyone is happy that we won. We are going home in a good mood. Happy with how we fought throughout this tournament. They never gave up, they were hungry for results, they fought for victory. I’m proud of this team. I want to congratulate this team, they are doing great,” Hlushak noted.
“A comeback from 2:9 against Cameroon? We started not very well, but in the middle of the set, we began to communicate better, there was better contact. This was not the limit for this group. We need to improve in certain aspects of the game, but this summer with this team, we did a great job. We will do everything possible to show that Ukraine can play great volleyball,” Hlushak stated.
The Ukrainian volleyball players demonstrated strength, exceeding expectations, and are ready for new challenges. They plan to elevate their game in the future, hoping for further success on the international stage.
