Executives of Novatek are offering Indian buyers to purchase Arctic gas while it is still cheap, reports Bloomberg.
Under the Arctic LNG 2 project, Russia was to showcase its gas production capabilities, however, production was halted due to US sanctions. Official representatives of the company stated that the situation may change when US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discuss trade.
However, it is unclear whether restrictions on Russia will be eased. The Russian oil and gas industry is actively lobbying, as evidenced by the visits of Novatek's top manager Denis Solovyov to Washington and Brussels.
