Azov Brigade retrains teachers: how the subject of Defense of Ukraine will change

According to ТСН: Today, it is important to stay connected with the youth, having open and understandable conversations about things that may seem distant. The updated subject acquires new meanings: not to scare, but to support; not to 'teach to fight', but to help understand how to protect oneself and loved ones. Therefore, the instructors of the National Guard Brigade 'Azov' have joined the initiative to make school knowledge practical and accessible.

Azov's Educational Activities

As part of the reform of the 'Defense of Ukraine' subject, the Azov members act as mentors for teachers and curators of school units, as well as attending lessons to convey the knowledge they have gained in real conditions in an educational format. Topics that instructors help explain to students include:

  • Basics of first aid and stabilizing the injured;
  • Engineering safety and understanding risks;
  • Basic principles of working with drones;
  • Radio communication and navigation;
  • Psychological reactions to stress and ways to act in dangerous situations.

This cooperation goes beyond consultations: the experience of Azov members is transmitted through teachers so that students take into account not only the war but also life during it, responsibility, and safety.

Recruitment: a choice made by adults

When today's students grow up, some of them may become interested in the service. For this, a recruitment center operates, interacting with adult candidates, explaining the terms of service, selection process, training, and possible development directions.Contract service for the age group of 18-24 is a conscious decision made with consideration of the specifics of the job. Recruiters help understand whether military affairs suit an individual and offer training options. Future military personnel can choose relevant vacancies in Azov:

  • Infantry special forces;
  • Drones operators;
  • Radio communication specialists;
  • Drivers, mechanics, technicians;
  • Engineering specialties;
  • Medical instructors;
  • Analytical and IT directions.

Each of these directions is not just a position but an important mission in the most combat-ready unit of the country.

Collaboration between the 'Azov' brigade and educators demonstrates how practical experience can make learning more meaningful and useful. Instructors help schools avoid the militarization of education while teaching children vital skills that are necessary for every Ukrainian today. It is support and an opportunity for young people to become stronger, wiser, and more confident in their own future.
