A hotline for meter verification has started operating in Kyiv: how it simplifies the procedure.

A special hotline is now operating in Kyiv to help city residents organize the verification of heat, hot, and cold water meters. The initiative aims to simplify this process for residents.

It was reported on the Official Portal of Kyiv about how the meter verification procedure has changed in the capital.

Why it is important to have meters verified on time

Meter verification is a mandatory procedure that confirms their proper functioning and accuracy. If a meter is not verified on time, its readings are not taken into account, and bills are calculated based on average data:

• hot water — based on average consumption for the past year;
• heat — based on the indicators of the building's meter from the previous heating season.

Thus, those who did not manage to have their meters verified on time may overpay for their actual consumption.

What has changed for residents of the capital

Now, after contacting the hotline, the relevant company independently conducts the entire procedure from unsealing and verification to resealing and updating data in the electronic database.

Clients no longer need to spend time issuing papers — everything happens automatically. To carry out the verification, it is necessary to:

• order the procedure for sealing or unsealing the meter;
• undergo verification;
• submit confirming documents to 'Kyivenergo' for updating information in the registry.

Meters can be verified by calling the hotline: (044) 207-88-88. Clients of 'Kyivenergo' and the 'Municipal Service Center' receive automatic notifications in their personal accounts regarding the approaching verification date.

The expiration date of the inter-verification interval can also be found in the device's technical passport or in the previous verification certificate.
