Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a key Russian port: a ship with Iranian Shahed damaged.
Strike on the Russian port of Olya
The Ukrainian defenders attacked the seaport of Olya in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, which had been used for the supply of weapons from Iran. A ship containing components for Shahed drones and ammunition was hit, and the results of the strike are currently being clarified.
This was reported by The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To limit the enemy's ability to carry out aerial strikes, on August 14, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, along with other parts of the Armed Forces, struck the seaport of Olya in the Astrakhan region.
'This object is used by Russian aggressors as an important logistical point for the supply of military goods from Iran,' the General Staff noted.
According to available information, the ship 'Port Olya 4', which contained components for UAVs of the Shahed type and ammunition from Iran, was damaged. The Armed Forces emphasize that they will continue actions to destroy the military potential of the occupiers and compel Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.
We remind that on August 13, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also struck a strategic object of the Russian occupiers in the Bryansk region by attacking the oil pumping station 'Unecha'.
Earlier, we also reported that the head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Danilo Hetmantsev, shared details of the 'Drone Line' program. According to him, the initiative allows combat units to independently purchase UAVs of the required models.
The Ukrainian forces continue to actively defend the country and neutralize threats from the occupiers; Russia's ability to receive military supplies from Iran has been limited. Similar operations indicate the strengthening of Ukraine's defensive capability and the dedication of Ukrainian soldiers to protect the country from external threats.
