Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Air Defenses and Depots: 970 Occupiers Eliminated in 24 Hours.
Ukraine's Defense Operations
According to UATV: On March 23, 2023, Ukraine's defense forces launched attacks on Russian military assets in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The strikes targeted a 'Tor' surface-to-air missile system and ammunition depots located in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk. Specifically, the attacks hit drone storage facilities in Staromykhailivka and Makiivka.
In Luhansk, a fuel and lubricant depot was destroyed. The operation also damaged a 'Nebo-U' radar station and a 2S6 'Tunguska' anti-aircraft artillery system in Russia's Bryansk region.
Enemy Losses
Over the past day, Ukrainian forces eliminated:
- 970 Russian soldiers
- one tank
- 24 artillery systems
- nearly 2,000 drones
These actions underscore the ongoing active combat in eastern Ukraine, where defense forces are conducting targeted strikes against enemy military installations.
The strikes highlight an escalation in regional conflict intensity, which could shape the future trajectory of hostilities.
The depletion of Russian military resources—such as ammunition depots and air defense systems—may weaken the enemy's combat capability, opening new opportunities for Ukrainian forces. This development, amid the protracted standoff, could prove pivotal in safeguarding Ukraine's security and territorial integrity.
