1,750 Russian Assaults Repelled in a Week: Which Fronts Are the Hottest.
Eastern Ukraine: A Week of Heavy Fighting
According to Espreso.tv: Over the past seven days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have successfully repelled 1,750 attacks by Russian forces, showcasing their resilience and defensive effectiveness. This comes as the situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense, with Ukrainian troops not only defending but also launching counterattacks across multiple sectors.
According to reports, in just 25 days of war, Russian forces have suffered heavy losses—640 soldiers killed for every square kilometer of territory seized. On the Orikhiv axis, Ukrainian forces pushed Russian troops back, highlighting their success in that area. Meanwhile, the Hulyaipole front saw no significant changes, indicating a stalemate in combat operations there.
Ukrainian Operations and Occupier Advances
In the Dnipro region, occupying forces advanced toward Dobropasove, located just 15 kilometers from the exclusion zone. Despite this, the AFU remains active: Ukrainian troops have entered the central streets of the villages of Novokhatske and Tovste, signaling their intent to tighten control over these areas. On the Pokrovsk axis, Russian forces are trying to reach the southern outskirts of Rodynske, but Ukrainian successes in this zone could complicate their plans.
The Kramatorsk and Sloviansk fronts remain the only sectors where Russian occupiers have made steady advances. This underscores the strategic importance of these territories in the broader context of fighting in eastern Ukraine. The situation remains fluid, and the AFU continues working to regain lost positions.
A combat map from May 23-30 shows activity on both sides, but the AFU's efforts in repelling attacks and conducting counterattacks remain a focal point amid high Russian casualties.
The situation in eastern Ukraine remains critical, with active hostilities and significant losses on both sides. The AFU's counterattack and defense efforts demonstrate the resilience of Ukrainian forces as they strive to hold strategically vital territory. At the same time, Russian forces, despite their losses, continue attempts to advance on certain fronts, highlighting the conflict's prolonged nature and the ongoing need for international attention.
