Ukrainian Forces Strike Crimea and Belgorod, Destroying Air Defense System and Naval Craft.
Ukrainian Military Targets Russian Assets in Coordinated Strikes
According to Novyny.live: In a series of coordinated attacks on March 7 and into the early hours of March 8, Ukrainian forces targeted Russian military installations in Crimea, the Belgorod region, and other occupied territories. These strikes, part of ongoing active combat operations, hit air defense systems, landing craft, and drone command centers. This represents a continued effort by Ukraine to degrade Russian military capabilities behind the front lines.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strikes successfully destroyed a 'Pantsir-S1' anti-aircraft missile-gun system and a BK-16 landing craft in the Novoozerne area of temporarily occupied Crimea. The final assessment of damage and the full scale of losses are still being determined.
Targets and Impact of the Attacks
Several unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command posts were also hit in the operation. Specifically, Ukrainian forces struck:
- An 'Orion' UAV command post in the Krasnosilsky area (temporarily occupied Crimea)
- A UAV command post in Dunayka (Belgorod region, Russian Federation)
- A UAV command post in the Huliaipole area (Zaporizhzhia region)
- A UAV command post in Selydove (temporarily occupied Donetsk region)
Other targets included command and observation posts of Russian units. These posts were located in the areas of:
- Nyzhniy Rohachyk (temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region)
- Novopetrivka
- Volnovakha
- Selydove (temporarily occupied Donetsk region)
"Among other targets, command and observation posts of Russian aggressor units were hit in the areas of Nyzhniy Rohachyk, Novopetrivka, Volnovakha, and Selydove."

In a separate operation, Ukraine's Security Service conducted drone strikes targeting the Yevpatoria aircraft repair plant and equipment near Dzhankoi. These attacks resulted in the destruction of enemy air defense systems, drones, and fuel tankers. Ukrainian sources also report that at least 1,800 Russian military personnel from Crimea have been killed in the war against Ukraine.
These coordinated strikes demonstrate Ukraine's ongoing strategy of targeting critical Russian military infrastructure in occupied territories. The destruction of key assets like air defense systems and command nodes can significantly impair Russian operational capabilities. The conflict continues to highlight the strategic importance of Crimea and other occupied regions as both a logistical hub and a frontline for long-range strikes.
