Attacks on Russian Military Infrastructure

According to UATV: On February 21, 2023, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukraine's defense forces had struck Russian military infrastructure. These strikes were aimed at damaging facilities that provide essential resources to the Russian army. This strategy targets the logistical backbone of Russia's invasion force.

Key targets of Ukrainian special operations forces included the Neftegorsky gas processing plant in Russia's Samara region, where a fire was recorded on the plant's territory. Additionally, a fuel and lubricants storage facility in the city of Donetsk in the Donetsk region was hit. A workshop for the production and maintenance of drones in the Novaya Karakuba area was also destroyed.

Successes of Ukrainian Forces

Another significant success was the destruction of an occupiers' material and technical equipment depot in Polohy, Zaporizhzhia. Furthermore, on February 21, 2023, a fire broke out at the Votkinsk Plant in Udmurtia, Russia, which manufactures Iskander and Topol-M missiles, as well as Oreshnik systems. These actions demonstrate an intensification of Ukrainian efforts to degrade Russia's war-fighting capabilities by striking deep into its military-industrial complex.

The Ukrainian strikes underscore a strategic shift in the conflict, focusing on crippling the enemy's key logistical and production hubs. Damaging such factories and depots can significantly impact the Russian military's ability to sustain its operations. These operations may signal a new phase where Ukraine is actively working to diminish Russia's long-term military potential.
