Ukraine’s Forces Destroy Russian Bastion System in Crimea: Fresh Strikes Target Occupiers.
Ukrainian Military Operation on March 24
According to UATV: On March 24, Ukraine’s defense forces eliminated a Russian-operated Bastion missile system in occupied Crimea. This system is designed to launch Oniks and Zircon anti-ship missiles. In addition, strikes were carried out against concentrations of enemy troops in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. These actions are part of Ukraine’s ongoing campaign to degrade Russian military capabilities in the region.
A repair unit in Novozlatopole and a drone control center in Velyka Novosilka were also hit. The full extent of damage and Russian casualties is still being assessed. These developments highlight the intensification of combat operations along the front line and Ukraine’s continued push to reclaim occupied land.
Significance of Destroying the Bastion System
The destruction of the Bastion system marks a critical step in reducing Russia’s naval threat in the Black Sea, as it was capable of striking Ukrainian vessels with precision. By targeting various assets in occupied areas, Ukrainian forces aim to weaken enemy logistics and command structures, potentially shifting the strategic balance on the battlefield.
