Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos, has successfully caught the booster of its New Glenn rocket for the first Time after launch. This was reported by Space.com.
Details of the launch
The rocket launched on November 13 at 10:55 Kyiv time from the US Space Force base at Cape Canaveral.
The ESCAPADE mission consists of two spacecraft developed by Rocket Lab for NASA and the University of California, Berkeley. Its goal is to study Mars' atmospheric loss. The project's cost is less than $80 million, significantly lower than previous Martian programs.
Successful tests
This was the second test launch of the New Glenn rocket. During the previous launch, the rocket reached orbit, but the booster could not be caught.
In the second launch, Blue Origin successfully landed the first stage on a platform in the Atlantic Ocean after delivering a payload for NASA.
The separation of the ESCAPADE spacecraft occurred on schedule — 33.5 minutes after launch.
