The state has simplified the acquisition of citizenship for military spouses: details from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that allows for the acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship for the spouse of a serviceman. Previously, this right was only granted to the spouses of foreigners and stateless persons who served in Ukrainian military units. Now this right has been extended to other military formations. It is no longer necessary to renounce one's citizenship for two years; it is sufficient to submit a declaration of renunciation of foreign citizenship. Additionally, this right also applies to foreigners who have lived in Ukraine for five years, as well as their relatives.
This law allows those who stand guard over Ukraine's independence alongside our soldiers. Recently, the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, spoke about the transition to a corps structure for military command and the strengthening of connections between different military units.
