The first round of negotiations between Ukraine and the U.S. in Saudi Arabia has concluded
After 3 hours and 20 minutes of negotiations, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz announced a break. Waltz stated that negotiations with Ukraine are 'moving forward'.
Andriy Yermak, head of the President's Office, confirmed that work continues.
Recall that on March 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went to Saudi Arabia.
Today, on March 11, the Ukrainian and American delegations began their meeting. The main topic of discussion was the war in Ukraine. The U.S. representatives include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, while the Ukrainian side is represented by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, and Defense Minister Rustem Umierov.
The Ukrainian delegation will attempt to convince the U.S. to restore intelligence and military support. American representatives will reassure that President Zelensky is seeking a swift end to the war in Ukraine.
The U.S. plans to assess Ukraine's readiness to 'reconcile' with Russia in negotiations to end hostilities.
