14 thousand students received new scholarships from the Ministry of Education: the most popular specialties named.


The Ministry of Education has introduced scholarships for education
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has implemented a pilot project of state scholarships for education, which started in 2024. Under the support mechanism, contract students, receiving a score of 150 points or more on the entrance National Multitude Test (NMT), received a grant of 15 thousand hryvnias, and with a score of 170 points or more – 25 thousand hryvnias. The amount of the grant depended on the chosen specialty.
According to Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vinnytskyi, 14 thousand applicants benefited from the scholarships, although 16 thousand were planned. The co-funding mechanism received positive feedback from the parents of applicants.
Among the most popular specialties for scholarship recipients were psychology, computer science, and law. The pilot project was particularly successful for the Ukrainian Catholic University, where 85% of applicants received scholarships, as well as for the Kyiv School of Economics.
Changes in education
The state scholarship system changes the approach to education among students and educational institutions. The amount of the grant ranges from 15 to 25 thousand hryvnias, depending on the specialty and NMT scores. This will contribute to the mastery of more relevant specialties for the labor market. Scholarships are available for full-Time and dual-mode students who are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree. Grant applications can be submitted in September and October after the start of studies.
