Ukraine Deploys 228 Specialists to the Middle East as Defense Cooperation Expands.
Ukraine’s Expert Role in the Middle East
According to UATV: Ukraine is now providing expert assistance to the United States and European nations in the Middle East, with 228 Ukrainian professionals already stationed there. This effort forms part of a broader push to deepen defense collaboration between Ukraine and several Gulf states, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Jordan.
To bolster military capabilities, Germany has streamlined its export procedures for defense equipment to both Ukraine and Gulf countries. These measures are designed to enhance overall defense readiness—a critical priority given today’s geopolitical landscape. Meanwhile, the European Union has set a goal to increase its own defense preparedness by 2030.
Statements from Ukrainian Leaders
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the situation, stating: 'Any success of terrorist activity by the Iranian regime, an ally of Russia, is unacceptable.'
He also emphasized that 'we are developing modern drones capable of consistently and reliably countering threats at sea.'
Yehor Cherniev, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Committee on National Security and Defense, underscored the significance of this assistance: 'This is real help that can save countless lives in the Middle East.' His remarks highlight Ukraine’s serious commitment to strengthening its position and aiding partners in the region.
Through these initiatives, Ukraine is steadily broadening its international security cooperation, aiming not only to defend its own interests but also to promote stability across the region.
This increased Ukrainian activity in the Middle East reflects its determination to forge stronger global ties and ensure regional security amid mounting threats. Support from Germany and other EU nations underscores the value of collective action in countering terrorist risks and reinforcing defense capacities. The integration of Ukrainian experts into joint programs could mark a pivotal step toward building new strategic alliances in the area.
