Gasoline A-100 for cars: when overpaying for fuel is justified.
According to inkorr.com: Drivers in Ukraine have been informed whether it is worth spending more money on high-octane fuel A-100, which is gaining popularity at gas stations. As noted in the materials of 'Hvylya', this type of gasoline is marketed as a modern product suitable for the latest engines. Its main advantage is high resistance to detonation, ensuring safe engine operation under load.
When the use of A-100 is reasonable
Experts emphasize that a noticeable positive effect from using high-octane gasoline is observed only in powerful cars designed for this type of fuel. In such cases, an increase in power of 10-15%, improved acceleration of the vehicle, and a reduction in fuel consumption by 5-6% can be expected. Additionally, A-100 contains a greater amount of detergent additives, helping to maintain the cleanliness of the fuel system.
When overpaying for high-octane fuel is unreasonable
For most passenger cars, switching to gasoline A-100 may not bring significant advantages. If the manufacturer recommends using A-92 or A-95, refueling with A-100 may be ineffective, as the engine's electronic systems will not be able to support its operation. As a result, the vehicle's dynamics and fuel consumption will remain unchanged, while refueling costs may increase.
Conclusion:
Experts have informed drivers about the feasibility of using high-octane fuel A-100. This gasoline may be beneficial for powerful vehicles, but for most passenger cars, overpaying for it may be impractical, as it does not provide significant improvements in engine performance. It is important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations when choosing fuel.
