Despite his success, Humphries admitted that he felt frustrated during the game, as he is still adapting to his new technique. He noted:

“Honestly, I don’t know if people can see how frustrated I am.”
“I changed my throw, it’s a bit different. I’ll explain it in another interview one day.”

The athlete shared that he no longer 'flips' the darts but instead 'pushes' them, and it brings new sensations:

“I feel completely different. I feel like there’s a different version of me now.”

Challenges and Results

Even after winning, Humphries believes he did not show his best level of play. He admitted:

“It’s so frustrating when the darts don’t fly the way they should. But I guess I have to adapt, and that takes time.”

He also mentioned that his opponent did not play at his highest level:

“Callan is a great player, but he didn’t show his absolute level here.”

Impressions from Competing at High Altitude

Humphries is not only continuing to compete in tournaments but also participated in an exhibition match at an altitude of 3500 meters in the Swiss mountains with Jonny Clayton. He shared his impressions:

“It was a wonderful experience. It was incredibly tough up there, very cold.”
“I was the only person who hit 180 at an altitude of around 12,000 feet, so that was really cool.”

Humphries emphasized that he plans to return next year for a similar experience, as Switzerland is one of the most beautiful countries he has visited.

On Sunday, he will return to play where he will face Ryan Searle in the round of 16 in Basel.
