Macron: US position on security guarantees for Ukraine has changed.
According to ТСН: French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the position of the United States regarding the provision of security guarantees for Ukraine has "changed in the last few weeks".
During the "Coalition of the Willing" summit in Paris, Macron emphasized the importance of the US role in ensuring these guarantees.
"They (the US - Ed.) are the only ones who have the ability to provide certain guarantees, and all this is of key importance," he said.
At the same time, the French leader noted that the "last few weeks have demonstrated a change in their position," although he did not specify what exactly he means by these changes.
We remind you that Macron, Starmer, and Zelensky signed a declaration of intent to deploy multinational forces after a ceasefire in Ukraine. In addition, the US promised support for Ukraine in the event of a new attack by the Russian Federation.
The change in the US position may indicate a more active involvement of Washington in security processes in Ukraine, especially in the context of potential threats from Russia. The agreement on multinational forces also demonstrates the readiness of the international community to support Ukraine in its aspirations for stability and security.
