New Ice Cream Flavors

The ice cream will be inspired by classic British cakes. Among the new offerings is the birthday cake flavor.

Aldi characterizes this flavor as containing 'a party in every pot'. This dessert with a sponge base is generously covered with sweet marshmallow and raspberry sauce, topped with colorful sprinkles.

The second new flavor is 'red velvet', which combines rich chocolate cream with pastry pieces.

The last new flavor is 'Cherry Bakewell' ice cream with a sweet almond taste and a pastry aroma topping.

All three flavors will hit the shelves on September 15th, priced at just £2.49.

Aldi's Christmas Plans

This news comes amid the confirmation of the company's Christmas plans, with only three months left until the holiday. Like many other stores, Aldi will close its doors for three days during the holiday period to allow staff to rest.

All 1,000 Aldi stores will close on Christmas Day and reopen on December 27th. There will also be a closure on New Year’s Day.

Rebecca Healy, Aldi UK Communications Director, stated: 'Christmas is a special time, and we want to ensure all our colleagues have the opportunity to rest and enjoy it with loved ones. That's why all Aldi stores will close this year on St. Stephen's Day.'

'We know how hard our colleagues work to make Christmas wonderful for our customers, and this is one small way to thank them.'

The supermarket also announced significant changes in its assortment. Aldi will introduce autumn and winter wines next week after being named Supermarket of the Year for Wine at the People's Choice Awards.

Sam Caporn, Master of Wine at Aldi, commented: 'As summer fades, it's time to unveil autumn flavors. Think of light-bodied reds for cozy evenings or tropical Chardonnay from Stellenbosch for Sunday lunch.'

'And here's a secret - pink wine Cigales is not just for summer. Its bright acidity makes it unexpectedly perfect for winter dishes as well.'
