According to The Sun: Former Newcastle player Rolando Aarons has signed a contract with Morecambe, a club playing at the amateur level, on a free transfer.
At only 29 years old, he once had high hopes for his career, starting with the team at St. James' Park in 2014.

After several loans, he left Newcastle in 2021, moving to Huddersfield, and subsequently was loaned out to Motherwell.
Last year, he had a brief spell at the Slovenian club Celje, after which he joined the PFA training team during the off-season to maintain his fitness.
Now Aarons has found a new team, as Morecambe has given him the chance to showcase his abilities. The club is trying to recover from the financial difficulties that threatened its existence.
The player posted a photo in Morecambe training gear on his Instagram, accompanied by a comment: "Let's have some fun."
"I am delighted that Rolando has decided to join us, he is the winger we identified early on, and we managed to complete this signing as there was a lot of competition for him," said Morecambe manager Ashvir Singh Jogal.
The coach believes that Aarons will bring “significant value” to the team with his experience of playing at a high level. He noted that Aarons already has experience in the Premier League, Championship, and Serie A.
This will put an end to a difficult period in Aarons' career as injuries have persistently complicated his plans. In 2019 during an interview, he described himself as “the unluckiest footballer in the world” and talked about how injuries affected his mental health.
"I broke down several times. After the first season, I called my mom and cried on the phone, telling her about my muscle injuries," he recalled.
Aarons shared that after his ligament surgery, he felt helpless and lost in the darkness of his mind.
"A big thank you to @the_pfa for supporting me in maintaining my fitness and creating a positive, professional, and hardworking environment for players. I feel ready for a new adventure!"Amidst numerous challenges faced by Rolando Aarons, his new contract with Morecambe could serve as a starting point for his return to top football. The club, looking to restore its standing after financial difficulties, provides the player a chance to make his mark again. For Aarons, it is particularly important to find stability, as a career filled with injuries has placed serious psychological burdens on him. Whether he can realize his potential this time will be revealed by time.
