Andriy Danylko – 51. Biography, archival photos and interesting facts about the artist.

On this day, October 2, People's Artist of Ukraine, singer, and showman Andriy Danylko, known by the pseudonym Verka Serduchka, is celebrating his 51st birthday. He was born in Poltava in 1973 in a low-income family. His father had already died when Andriy was 7 years old, and his mother had to work at a factory to support the family.

At school, he was an active participant in creative self-activity and attended an art school, also performing on the summer camp stage and taking part in a theater studio. After finishing school in 1991, he enrolled in the Poltava Vocational School, where he first introduced his alter-ego – Verka Serduchka – to the public.

Performances by Verka Serduchka at the Kyiv festival "Humorina" brought him popularity. He started appearing in advertisements, performing on TV shows, and giving concerts. In 2007, he participated in the Eurovision contest, taking second place with the song "Dancing Lasha Tumbai".

Andriy Danylko is also a well-known producer and has released several music videos for Verka Serduchka's songs. He is also involved in charity work and tries to remain private in his personal life.
