The Future of Postecoglou in Jeopardy: Nottingham Forest Considering Coach's Dismissal.
Sad Start for Postecoglou at Nottingham
According to The Sun: Ang Postecoglou's future at Nottingham Forest is in doubt after just 24 days in charge.
The coach has failed to secure a single victory in his first six matches, marking the first such case in 100 years in the club's history.
GettyThe club is considering the option of dismissing Postecoglou and will make a decision during the international break if the team cannot win the match against Newcastle, according to the Daily Mail.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis was present at the game where Nottingham suffered a 2-3 home loss to Midtjylland in the Europa League.
During the match, fans sang songs about former coach Nuno Espirito Santo and yelled at Postecoglou: “you’re getting sacked in the morning.”
The Australian has just two draws - against Bournemouth and Real Betis, along with losses to Arsenal, Swansea, Sunderland, and Midtjylland.
Postecoglou was sacked from Tottenham last summer after finishing 17th in the Premier League, despite winning the Europa League.
The football specialist admitted that nothing surprises him in football, given the calls for his dismissal.
“Fans are disappointed, and they have a right to their opinion. I have heard their opinion.”
“Nothing surprises me in football anymore. I think this is just the climate we are in, and it seems like that is just how it goes.”
“It’s not something I can control. I just have to make sure we get wins for this football club.”
A loss to Newcastle could be the last straw for Marinakis, who sacked Nuno after months of tension between them.
