Upcoming Fights for Anthony Joshua

According to The Sun: Anthony Joshua is considering ten possible opponents for his next fight, which is meant to serve as preparation for the meeting with Tyson Fury.

Joshua, who hasn't been in the ring since September 2024 after a loss to Daniel Dubois and an elbow surgery, is returning to training.

Fury announced his retirement in January after two defeats against Oleksandr Usyk but has recently hinted that a comeback in boxing is possible.

Joshua, 35 years old, reached out to Fury via social media, and his promoter Eddie Hearn believes that both boxers will initially have separate preparation fights.

Hearn told Sky Sports: “Now he is training again, and my conversations over the last few weeks have been very positive regarding setting a return date.”
“When AJ posts something like that, you know he is ready.”

Joshua's Team on the Plans

Joshua has received an offer to return to Ghana, and his potential opponent could be the 2016 Olympic champion, Tony Yoka, 33 years old.

“Tony Yoka, he is definitely on the list, I don't know, is it ten?” — noted Hearn. “I expect it will be an opponent from the top 20, not from the top 5.”
“It is a team fight that should carry some danger to show that we are ready for big fights.”

The Situation with Jake Paul

Joshua had negotiations for a fight with Jake Paul, a former YouTuber, but those plans have been put on hold as Paul announced a show fight against lightweight Gervonta Davis.

Hearn remarked: “That is such a big size difference. If he loses, don’t think he can fight Anthony Joshua.”

However, the Paul team assures that the plan remains — a fight with the two-time heavyweight champion next year.

“We are not waiting for a fight with Jake Paul. We are planning our fight for late January - February 2026.”
