Japanese Susaki, who supports Russia, sensationally lost in the first round of the Olympics.

At the beginning of the wrestling tournament, Yui Susaki stood out - one of the biggest stars in sporting wrestling in the category up to 50 kilograms. She has not yet faced defeat in her career, winning 13 international tournaments, including the 2020 Olympics and four world championships. She was considered the main favorite at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where she received the first seed.
However, in the first round, she was defeated by Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat - a strong competitor who has already twice become a world champion. Phogat managed to sensationally defeat Susaki with a score of 3:2, knocking her out of the gold medal contention.
Vinesh Phogat also defeated Ukrainian Oksana Livach, Cuban Yusneylys Guzman Lopez, and advanced to the final.
Yui Susaki is a great admirer of Russian wrestling and Russia in general. She expressed her gratitude and pride in training with Ukrainian wrestler Zaurbek Sidakov, who could not participate in the 2024 Olympics due to accusations of supporting the war.
Particularly cynical is that on her page she posted a clip of her stay in Russia, completely ignoring the Ukrainian war and continuing to attend tournaments with wrestlers who support the occupation of our country.
Tomorrow, Susaki will compete in the consolation matches and face Oksana Livach. The Ukrainian must perform a miracle and defeat the representative of Russia. But today it was shown that training in Russia can have consequences.
