App Store and Google Play blocked 31 online casino apps in Ukraine: details.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reported that another 31 gambling apps were blocked in Google Play and the App Store. Ukraine approached Apple and Google with a proposal to limit access to gambling on their platforms. According to the Minister of Digital Transformation, 12 apps were blocked in the App Store, and the first 19 online casinos were blocked in Google Play. The minister expressed gratitude to Apple and Google for their cooperation. Previously, 50 such apps had already been blocked. 

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine banned the advertising of gambling and betting offices until a law on combating gambling addiction is adopted. Such restrictions will remain in force until the corresponding law comes into effect. 

Bill on the organization of gambling and lotteries

The Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy in Ukraine approved a bill that provides for the liquidation of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries. It is also planned to strengthen control over the gambling business. 

President Volodymyr Zelensky also made changes to the operation of online casinos based on a decision of the National Security and Defense Council. He introduced a special decree regulating this area.
