Martin Ødegaard suffered a serious knee injury: how long will the Arsenal captain miss.
Ødegaard ruled out due to injury
According to The Sun: Martin Ødegaard missed matches for the Norway national team due to a knee ligament injury he sustained in the game against West Ham.
The Arsenal captain was substituted in the 30th minute of the match, which ended with a 2:0 victory, following a collision with Krystian Beveridge.
GettyThis injury is the reason he was substituted before halftime for the first time in Premier League history in three consecutive matches. He also left the field earlier due to a shoulder injury in matches against Leeds and Nottingham.
Ødegaard will remain in London for further examinations, which means he will miss the World Cup qualifying match against Israel and the friendly match against New Zealand next week.
The club's statement says:
“Martin Ødegaard has been withdrawn from the Norway national team due to a medial collateral ligament injury to his left knee.
“Martin will continue to undergo evaluation and treatment by our medical team at the Sobha Realty training center during the international window, with a view to returning to play as soon as possible.”
Ødegaard has joined the list of injured team players, including Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Piero Hincapié.
Declan Rice remains with the national team
However, not all news is bad, as Declan Rice, who sustained a back injury in the match against West Ham, is expected to join the England national team on Monday.
The 26-year-old midfielder was substituted at the end of the match, but is expected to meet with the Three Lions at St. George's Park ahead of the friendly match against Wales and the World Cup qualifying match in Latvia next week.

Additionally, Rice will be joining the team despite an ankle injury sustained during a Bundesliga match.
Harry Kane became the first player to score 11 goals in the first six Bundesliga matches but left the field five minutes before the end of the game.
After the match, Kane noted:
“I will be at St. George's Park on Monday. I'm fine, just a contact on the bone.
“It happened a few weeks ago in one of the matches, and it was just recovering, and I got hit again in the same place. In a few days everything should be fine.”
Thus, the situation for the players in the teams remains tense. Key players are currently heading for treatment, although hopes for the return of others still exist.
Both national teams continue to prepare for the upcoming important matches, which will be a test for their squads. Injuries are always unpredictable, and it is unfortunate that teams lose such important players like Ødegaard, but the good news is that Rice and Kane seem to be able to help their teams in the upcoming games.
