Arsenal is undergoing a personnel revolution: key Arteta ally leaves the club.
Changes in Arsenal's leadership
According to The Sun: Mikel Arteta has lost another important ally at Arsenal: Executive Vice-Chairman Tim Lewis has resigned as part of significant changes in leadership.
Lewis completed a five-year term in which he served as an important bridge between Manager Arteta and owners Stan and Josh Kroenke.
EPARecently, he played a key role in appointing a new sporting director, Andrea Berta, which came after the unexpected departure of Edu to Nottingham Forest last November.
Together with Berta and Arteta, he formed a trio responsible for transfers, managing one of Arsenal's most successful transfer windows in history, spending around £250 million on eight new players.
Loss of support for Arteta
Now Arteta has lost three important supporters in leadership in a short period: Lewis, Edu, and assistant sporting director Jason Leihto, who moved to Brighton.
The club today marked these changes as a positive step forward, aiming to establish closer collaboration with Arteta in decision-making both on and off the pitch.
To strengthen the management team, two independent directors from Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) – Kelly Blahu and Otto Mali – have been invited, along with KSE advisor Dave Steiner.
CEO Richard Garclit is now serving as Acting Executive Director, and producer and director Ben Winston, who has been a season ticket holder for over 30 years, will also join the board as an independent director.

Arsenal emphasized that Winston will bring "a diverse experience and knowledge from various fields such as finance, sports, retail, real estate development, media, and entertainment to support the club in its further development".
“At this moment, we would like to thank Tim for his dedication and efforts during this period of transformational change for the club,” said co-author Josh Kroenke.
“He played an important role and positioned us well to continue our strategy in the pursuit of winning major trophies. We are always striving to move forward, and we will strengthen our board with exciting additions that will bring a wealth of experience across a broad spectrum of professions.”
Lewis expressed his opinion on various sensitive issues during his tenure at Arsenal, including financial fair play regulations, and was recorded sharply exiting the executive box at Etihad during a contentious match between Arsenal and Manchester City that ended in a 2-2 draw last season.
These changes in Arsenal's leadership may significantly impact the club's future as new faces in management seek to strengthen the team and reach new heights in international competitions. The reaction of fans and media indicates expectation regarding how the new leadership team will respond to the challenges facing the club in the upcoming season.
