Russian Military Attacks on Dnipropetrovsk Region
According to UATV: On March 30, 2023, Russian forces launched attacks on two districts in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, killing one person and wounding 12 others. The strikes targeted the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih areas. This region, located in central-eastern Ukraine, has faced repeated bombardments due to its proximity to the front lines.
Aftermath of the Attacks
In the Nikopol district, four communities came under fire. The shelling damaged:
- educational institutions
- residential buildings
- shops
- a workshop and vehicles
Residents of the city of Nikopol bore the brunt of the assault, where a strike involving an FPV drone left eight people injured.
In the Kryvyi Rih area, Russian troops hit two communities, damaging homes and a solar panel. The attacks employed an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 164 attack drones.
Oleksandr Hanzha reported on the consequences of these strikes, highlighting their severe impact on local residents.
The situation in the region remains dire, with civilians continuing to suffer from the ongoing hostilities. These attacks underscore the persistence of military operations in Ukraine, particularly in the strategically important Dnipropetrovsk region. Despite reconstruction efforts, the bombardment inflicts heavy damage on local communities that urgently need humanitarian aid. Tensions are likely to stay high as both sides maintain active combat operations in the conflict zone.
