Russia Launches Massive Combined Strike on Ukraine
According to UATV: On July 2, 2023, the Russian military executed a large-scale, multi-pronged assault on Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv, employing a mix of missiles and drones. According to Ukraine's Air Force, 570 aerial attack assets were detected. This total comprised 74 missiles and 496 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types. “the hallmark of this massive attack was the simultaneous use of various aerial attack types from different directions, along with a high volume of ballistic missiles and jet-powered UAVs.”
Ukraine's air defense systems successfully intercepted 524 targets. These included 4 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, 32 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 8 Kalibr cruise missiles, 4 Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles, and 476 enemy UAVs. The attacks resulted in 10 fatalities and 34 injuries. The exact missile count is still being verified.
