Three Dead, Over 20 Injured in Zaporizhzhia After Latest Russian Strikes.
Zaporizhzhia Under Fire
According to UATV: Russian attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region have left three people dead and more than 20 wounded over the past 24 hours. In just one day, Russian forces launched nearly 1,000 strikes across 49 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. These assaults have now continued for a second consecutive day, with gas stations in the city being specifically targeted.
On June 24, an explosion partially destroyed a municipal building, killing a woman. The following day, June 25, Russian drones struck Zaporizhzhia again, killing a train assistant driver. The attacks also hit a gas station, damaging equipment and nearby high-rise apartment buildings.
“The enemy continues to terrorize the city of Zaporizhzhia. A fire broke out at a gas station,” said Yulia Barysheva.
One strike hit a coastal highway near the Dnipro River. In response, local authorities are implementing additional measures to protect gas stations and are strengthening air defenses to counter attack drones.
“We need to install passive protection. Second, we need repair kits for rapid restoration,” said Ivan Fedorov.
The situation in Zaporizhzhia remains tense as attacks persist, leaving residents to endure the consequences. Officials continue to take steps to protect both the population and critical infrastructure.
These events highlight the severity of the humanitarian crisis in the region, where constant shelling threatens the lives and safety of civilians. The deteriorating security situation in Zaporizhzhia may create new challenges for local authorities, who are forced to find ways to ensure protection and rebuild infrastructure. At the same time, the intensification of attacks could signal a shift in Russian military tactics, which requires close monitoring by Ukrainian forces and international organizations.
