Major Airstrike Targets Kherson

According to UATV: The Russian military launched a heavy aerial assault on Kherson, striking the city with roughly ten guided bombs within a 30-minute window. This rapid series of attacks caused extensive damage across multiple districts, hitting apartment blocks, private homes, and an educational facility. Preliminary reports confirm at least four people were injured.

Residents describe the onslaught as chaotic and terrifying. One witness, Ivan, recalled: “The power was out—I was lying on the couch. Then I heard an explosion, and glass shattered all over me. No windows left, no doors… not a single window. The garage was blown out, everything. But we’ll keep waiting for victory—most of all, I hope victory will be ours.”

Another resident, Valentina, shared her ordeal: “I was in the city center while my husband slept at home. When the KABs came flying in, we headed for the basement. Then my husband called and said, ‘Come back, we got hit.’ I don’t know how he survived—it’s a miracle.”

Rising Tensions in the Region

Prior to this strike, Russian drones had already attacked a fire and rescue unit building in the Kherson region, sparking a blaze. These events highlight the escalating danger for local civilians and signal a sharp increase in hostilities around the area.

The latest violence in Kherson underscores the ongoing war in Ukraine and the mounting threats to civilian life. Attacks on homes and schools have drawn international concern over the safety of non-combatants. At the same time, the accounts of survivors reflect both resilience and a stubborn hope for a better future, even amid the horrors of war.
