Russian Forces Strike Civilian Targets in Ukraine
According to UATV: On June 26, 2023, Russian troops attacked a minibus in the city of Nikopol, killing two passengers and wounding 12 others—including two 12-year-old girls. This tragic event is one of many resulting from the ongoing military aggression in the region.
In a separate incident, the Russian military also hit a scheduled bus in Marhanets, where one woman was injured. Across the Nikopol district, the attacks caused extensive damage to:
- private homes;
- an administrative building;
- vehicles.
Further destruction was reported in the Synelnykove district, where an agricultural enterprise and a car were damaged in the strikes.
Emergency crews managed to extinguish a wildfire sparked by the attacks. These events highlight the ongoing dangers faced by civilians in conflict zones and underscore the urgent need for enhanced safety measures.
These incidents illustrate the growing threat to peaceful residents in Ukraine, as military actions continue to harm not only infrastructure but also human lives.
It is critical that the international community responds to these human rights violations and works to ensure the protection of civilians in conflict areas.
