Supermarket Chains Launch Significant Sale

According to Novyny.live: Two of Ukraine's major supermarket chains, ATB and Silpo, have launched a substantial discount campaign on a range of popular products, effective January 24, 2026. These promotions offer consumers a chance to save significantly on everyday grocery items, with price reductions reaching 40-46% on specific goods. For many households, these savings could provide meaningful relief to the weekly food budget.

Key Discounted Items

Among the most notable offers available at Silpo stores are:

  • Ground coffee – 159 UAH, down from 294 UAH (46% off)
  • 45% fat cow's milk cheese – 169 UAH, down from 284 UAH (40% off)
  • Canned sweet corn – 39.99 UAH, down from 66.99 UAH (40% off)

Shoppers at ATB can find similarly impressive deals, including:

  • Potato chips – 29.90 UAH, down from 55.30 UAH (45% off)
  • Two-layer ice cream – 35.90 UAH, down from 65.90 UAH (45% off)
  • Chicken nuggets – 82.90 UAH, down from 138.90 UAH (40% off)

Additional promotions include yogurt at Silpo for 99.90 UAH instead of 159 UAH (37% off), and black Bai Hao tea at ATB for 50.60 UAH, reduced from 78.40 UAH (35% off). A semi-dry red wine is now priced at 155.40 UAH, down from 238.30 UAH (34% off), while tomatoes at Silpo cost 64.79 UAH, a 28% reduction from 89.99 UAH.

Looking ahead, the price of mandarins is forecast to potentially drop to 35-50 UAH per kilogram by the end of February 2026. This seasonal trend is welcome news for consumers, as oranges typically maintain stable demand during the winter months.

As noted by Liliia Bystrytska: 'No sharp price fluctuations are expected.'

In contrast to these discounts, prices for other staple goods show different trends. The current minimum price for buckwheat in Ukraine is 35 UAH per kilogram, with an average price of 47.87 UAH. Meanwhile, the cost of chicken eggs has risen by 12.83% year-over-year between January 2025 and January 2026. This highlights the importance for consumers to monitor price changes across various product categories to plan their shopping effectively.

The discount campaigns from ATB and Silpo could substantially ease the financial pressure on consumers, particularly against the backdrop of rising prices for items like eggs. With food costs remaining a primary concern for household budgets, such supermarket promotions become a crucial tool for managing expenses. Shoppers are advised to take note of these offers and stay informed about broader market conditions to optimize their spending.
