Criminal Investigation and Demining Operations Underway
Authorities have opened a criminal case under Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which addresses violations of the laws and customs of war. Meanwhile, sappers are actively demining the affected area, having already cleared 35 hectares of farmland and over 12 hectares of forestland. These efforts are part of broader initiatives to restore safety in impacted zones.
This airstrike underscores the persistent danger to civilians amid the ongoing war in Ukraine and raises questions about adherence to international humanitarian law. The criminal investigation signals Ukraine's intent to hold those responsible for war crimes accountable, which could have implications for future legal proceedings. At the same time, demining work is crucial for rebuilding normal life and ensuring the security of residents in the affected areas.
