Deferral Period Changed for Parents with Many Children: Key Updates You Need to Know.
Deferrals for Large Families
According to Novyny.live: Parents raising multiple children are entitled to a military mobilization deferral that lasts until their oldest child turns 18. However, the duration of this deferral is subject to change and cannot extend beyond the overall mobilization period. Once granted, the deferral can be renewed every three months.
According to Yuriy Ayvazyan, 'Nothing terrible has happened; no one has revoked the deferral. From now on, it will simply be granted in three-month increments.'
This means that parents can still count on support, but they must pay close attention to renewal deadlines.
It is crucial to note that a father of many children qualifies for a deferral even if he does not live with his children, provided he pays court-ordered child support. To obtain a deferral for children from a previous marriage, formal adoption or a corresponding court decision is required.
Additionally, the deferral cannot last longer than the overall mobilization period. Yuriy Ayvazyan emphasized:
If the mobilization period is extended, the deferral from military service during mobilization and the special period is also extended for the conscript, but no longer than until circumstances arise that remove the legal grounds for the deferral.
One previously issued deferral, which was valid until 2032, has been adjusted, with the new expiration date now set for May 3, 2026. This highlights the need to constantly update information and adapt to changes in laws governing mobilization and the rights of parents with many children.
This information is vital for parents with many children, as it helps them plan their lives and family responsibilities amidst mobilization. The three-month renewal cycle can offer some stability in a challenging situation, but parents should remain vigilant about legislative changes and adhere to renewal deadlines. The mobilization landscape is constantly shifting, making it essential to follow the news and obtain up-to-date information from reliable sources.
