Ballon d'Or 2025: who will receive the most prestigious individual award in football.
According to The Sun: The grandest night in the world of football is approaching - stars are ready for the Ballon d'Or award ceremony.
This year, the Ballon d'Or 2025 promises to be one of the most dramatic, as the biggest names in football will compete for this prestigious award.
AFPWho will lift the most coveted trophy in world football this year?
The shortlist of nominees is filled with stars, from scoring machines to midfield maestros. However, only one will be able to receive this iconic golden trophy, along with the bragging rights that come with it.
Last year, the award went to Rodri from Manchester City, who impressed with his play in midfield and helped the team win the Premier League, as well as winning Euro 2024 with the national team.
Previously, everyone already knew who would receive the award, as 13 out of 15 times, the Ballon d'Or went to either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
In particular, Messi has won the Ballon d'Or eight times, while Ronaldo has five.
However, given that both giants of the sport are nearing the end of their careers, fans now find it much harder to predict who will be the next holder of the award.
