Ukrainian Gasoline Prices Surge to 72 UAH/L, with Further Increases Expected.
Fuel Prices Climb in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Fuel costs in Ukraine have risen sharply, reaching 70 UAH per liter. This increase is directly linked to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, which has disrupted global energy markets. Analysts are now forecasting that prices for energy resources will continue to climb. As of March 4, 2023, the price for a liter of A-95 gasoline varies between 63.99 and 71.99 UAH across different filling stations.
A-95 Gasoline Prices as of March 4
- WOG Station: 71.99 UAH per liter
- SOLAR Station: 71.15 UAH per liter
- OKKO Station: 70.99 UAH per liter
- BRCM-Nafta Station: 63.99 UAH per liter
The premium A-100 gasoline is priced from 78.99 to 80.99 UAH per liter, while diesel fuel ranges from 63.99 to 73.99 UAH per liter. These price fluctuations are a consequence of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping lane, which has been effectively stalled due to the war.
Experts, including Dmytro Liovushkin, warn that even in the immediate future, consumers should anticipate further price hikes for fuel.
'As soon as tomorrow, everyone will see an increase of a couple of hryvnias,' stated Dmytro Liovushkin.
Liovushkin further emphasized that 'if the price of oil were to stabilize right now, Ukrainians would still see prices of around 80 UAH per liter at OKKO and WOG within a week.' This ongoing price pressure means Ukrainian consumers continue to feel the impact of global energy crises, leading to significant increases in fuel costs.
With continued global instability, future fuel price movements remain highly uncertain. The rising cost of fuel poses a serious threat to the national economy, as higher energy prices typically lead to increased transportation and production costs for goods. This chain reaction can ultimately drive broader inflation and negatively affect the population's standard of living.
