Without this certificate, you will not be allowed into Moldova - what is required at the border.
Moldova has introduced new requirements for Ukrainian drivers. Now, without a vehicle technical inspection certificate, you cannot cross the border - even if all other documents are in order. This applies to both passenger and freight vehicles.
Ukrainians intending to travel to Moldova in their car need to be aware of this important change. Even if the vehicle looks perfect, it will not be allowed through the border without the inspection certificate. The certificate confirms the safety of the vehicle for movement and is mandatory for both passenger and freight vehicles.
What documents are needed at the border
To cross the border with Moldova, drivers must have a biometric or foreign passport, a driver's license, a vehicle registration certificate, a 'Green Card' - international car insurance, and payment for the Moldovan vignette (road tax).
- If you have a child, you need to have their documents. If a child is traveling with only one parent or relatives, a notarized consent for departure is required.
At the Moldovan border, there are strict restrictions on the import of goods such as weapons, drugs, prescription medications without a prescription, dairy and meat products, honey, and seedlings without documents. Violations will result in fines and confiscation of goods.
Ukrainian drivers now, in addition to other documents, need to have a technical inspection certificate to cross the border with Moldova. Violating these rules may result in fines and other sanctions, so drivers should be careful and prepare for the trip in advance.
