Visa-free regime with the EU: new opportunities and restrictions for Ukrainian agrarians.
According to inkorr.com: The Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denis Marchuk spoke about the new opportunities and restrictions that Ukrainian agrarians have received after the extension of the trade visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU.
'Thanks to the trade visa-free regime, which came into effect in 2022, Ukrainian exports have been steadily and consistently growing. And it is not only about raw materials - a significant portion of value-added products has also been sent to Europe.'
Positive reception of Ukrainian goods
Marchuk emphasized that Ukrainian goods have received a good response in European markets, particularly in Germany, Spain, and Italy. Although restrictions have become stricter, the encouraging news was the increase in the quota for sugar exports.
New markets for export
At the same time, wheat exports face certain trade restrictions with Europe, so Ukraine is focusing on the markets of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
'When it comes to further developing export directions, Ukraine will additionally focus on the markets of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East - these are our traditional partners,' explained Marchuk.
Stable demand for Ukrainian products
Despite existing restrictions and challenges, Ukrainian products continue to be in demand, especially high-quality food grain, which remains popular even in wartime conditions.
Thus, Ukrainian agrarians have both new opportunities and restrictions in exporting their products. Among them are the tightening of trade regulations with Europe and the reduction of export opportunities for certain types of agricultural products. However, the demand for Ukrainian products gives reason to hope for the expansion of export markets and growth in the country's agricultural sector.
