Belarusian Frequencies for Russian Drones: How It Complicates the Work of the Ukrainian Air Defense.
According to ТСН: The use of airspace and technical infrastructure in Belarus directly affects the effectiveness of the Ukrainian air defense system.
This was stated by the president of the All-Ukrainian Aviation Organization, Hennadiy Khazan, during a broadcast on the 'KYIV24' channel.
'Part of the airspace of Belarus and electronic means located on the territory of the country are being used. The leaders of this state essentially allow the RF military to utilize the frequency resource belonging to the Republic of Belarus to control drones,' Khazan noted.
Why Is This Important?
The involvement of Belarusian frequencies and radio-electronic warfare means complicates the tasks for Ukrainian mobile fire groups and EW units. This gives the enemy the ability to adjust drone routes in real-time, trying to avoid air defense coverage zones.
Additionally, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky previously mentioned important negotiations related to air defense, emphasizing that 'missiles in partners' warehouses are present.'
This situation highlights the role of Belarus as an important player in the military actions occurring in the region, and regardless of the decisions made in Ukraine, control over the airspace remains critically important for ensuring an adequate level of security. Therefore, continuing negotiations for support in the field of air defense remains a pressing task for the Ukrainian authorities.
