Close Associate of Zelenskyy Has Russian Passport and Business in Crimea – 'Schemes'.
Ukrainian Producer Naum Barulia Holds Russian Citizenship and Was Active in Occupied Crimea
According to the program 'Schemes,' Naum Barulia, known for his collaboration with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, holds Russian citizenship. Each year he traveled to Crimea with a Russian passport to the territory currently under occupation.
In April 2009, Barulia received Russian citizenship and still holds a valid Russian passport. At the same Time, Barulia denies having a Russian passport and claims to have lost all his assets in Crimea.
However, it was discovered that he owns several apartments in Sudak, which he re-registered under Russian law. He also purchased a plot of land and a building on the occupied peninsula. The total value of these assets is about 60 million rubles.
Additionally, Barulia has two active companies in Sudak, which are registered under Russian law and generate income for the occupation authorities.
Until 2014, Barulia worked in Moscow with the Russian KVN and collaborated with Alexander Maslyakov. After the Revolution of Dignity, he returned to Kyiv and began working with the studio 'Kvartal 95.' Together they created the show 'League of Laughter' and produced several Ukrainian television sitcoms. Currently, his daughter, Iryna Borzova, is a member of parliament from the 'Servant of the People' party.
