22500 hryvnias per month: who can easily find work in Kyiv and Lviv.
Due to the consequences of the war and mobilization, Ukrainian enterprises face a shortage of qualified specialists. The situation on the labor market in Ukraine, particularly in Lviv and Kyiv, was analyzed in the TSN program.
Experts note that the labor market has adapted to the conditions of the war. Statistics show that the number of vacancies on the market has recovered to 93% since the invasion began. Vacancies have particularly increased in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, clerical work, insurance, telecommunications, and communication.
Due to mobilization, the shortage of staff is felt in many regions of Ukraine, and more and more people are looking for the opportunity to work remotely. Since the beginning of the year, the number of job seekers on the labor market has increased, leading to increased competition.
Due to the shortage of staff in Lviv and Kyiv, employers are raising requirements for candidates and salary levels. For example, knowledge of English is a relevant requirement.
Experts emphasize that the shortage of staff is more felt in the western regions of the country due to labor migration and the war. A significant number of the working-age population has been "washed out" by labor migration, and the conflict in the east of the country has further complicated the situation.
At the same time, with the start of the war, many businesses moved to western Ukraine. In the western regions, including Lviv, the number of employers has increased, but some enterprises did not move their staff, which requires higher salaries to attract workers.
The war has significantly affected the labor market in large cities. Lviv ranks second in terms of average salary (20 thousand hryvnias), with Kyiv in first place (22.5 thousand hryvnias). The cost of renting apartments in Lviv is almost equal to the cost of renting in Kyiv, and in some cases even exceeds it. Additionally, Lviv surpasses Kyiv in terms of office occupancy rates.
The only difference between Lviv and Kyiv remains the active work of the TCC and SP employees, which affects the labor market.
In short, the war has significantly impacted the labor market in Ukraine, especially in large cities. Staff shortages and salary increases have become common phenomena. The labor market in the western regions has been most affected due to labor migration and the war.
Recall, the Employment Center previously reported on the most difficult-to-employ vacancies.
