Kupyansk Front Heats Up: Russian Forces Push Through Kivsharivka, Threaten to Split Ukrainian Bridgehead.

Renewed Fighting Around Kupyansk

According to Espreso.tv: Fierce clashes are intensifying on the Kupyansk front, particularly on both sides of the Oskil River and within the city itself. Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation, reported that Russian troops are actively breaking through Kivsharivka on the eastern bank, driving toward the town of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy in an attempt to sever the Ukrainian-held bridgehead east of the river.

“They are rushing toward Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, trying to cut off the Ukrainian bridgehead east of the river,” Trehubov stated.

He added that Russian forces are already engaging in battles in the northern districts of the city. The situation on the western bank, inside Kupyansk itself, has also become more precarious.

“They are ramping up the pressure, throwing into the fight the reserves they had stockpiled over the summer,” the spokesperson noted.

On July 20, the 425th Separate Assault Regiment 'Skelya' claimed to have captured Ukrainian soldiers in Kostyantynivka. However, Ukrainian troops managed to take two Russian occupiers prisoner during the same engagements.

“The enemy is taking heavy losses and being pushed back,” Trehubov concluded.
