Escalation in Ukrainian Attacks on Russian Logistics

According to UATV: Ukraine’s military has intensified its campaign against Russian logistics, targeting maritime, fuel, and military infrastructure—including ships, power substations, and airfields. These operations aim to curb Russia’s oil revenues and disrupt supply routes for its troops. Since the launch of the 'MoLoChKa' unmanned systems operation on July 6, Ukrainian forces have hit 172 vessels.

Operations and Their Impact

On July 19, Ukrainian drones struck four Russian ships in the Black Sea. Additionally, attacks were recorded on 13 electrical substations in temporarily occupied territories, including Crimea. Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) also targeted the shadow fleet tanker Avero, as well as three oil depots in Russia’s Stavropol region. On July 16, the SBU destroyed a Tu-95 strategic bomber at the Russian airbase in Engels, underscoring the scale and precision of Ukraine’s operations.

Over the past 100 days, Ukraine’s Armed Forces have attacked Russian oil facilities approximately 50 times, hitting at least 24 of 34 major refineries. Within two weeks, the capacity of the Kerch ferry crossing dropped by 75%. 'The operation's goal is to disrupt the enemy's maritime logistics,' according to Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that 'today, Ukraine’s long-range sanctions reached certain objects that finance and fuel Russian aggression.'

Operation 'MoLoChKa,' which stands for 'Moscow Will Fall Through Crimea,' continues to be executed with strike ranges of up to 1,000 km, showcasing a new level of capability for Ukrainian forces in countering aggression.

These actions reflect Ukraine’s strategy of weakening Russia’s military power through targeted strikes on critical infrastructure. Successful hits on logistics could significantly affect the supply of resources to Russian troops and their ability to conduct combat operations. The increasing range of Ukrainian drone strikes highlights advancements in military technology and tactics, potentially shifting the regional balance of power.
