Battles for Chasiv Yar: what percentage of the city do the Russians control.
According to Andriy Polukhin, representative of the press service of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo, the Russians currently control only one micro-district in the eastern part of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region, which accounts for approximately 10% of the city's territory.
He stated that he previously provided incorrect information about the Russian occupation of 40% of the city. Now, this territory has been reduced and the occupiers hold only one district. DeepState data indicates that this territory accounts for more than 8% of the city, but it is hard to name the exact figure. In any case, the Russians have occupied about 10% of Chasiv Yar. However, this territory does not give them any tactical advantage.
According to Polukhin, the area controlled by the occupiers is almost completely destroyed.
He reported that the Russians are trying to gather in small groups and conduct assaults on the positions of Ukrainian military. However, Ukrainians have an advantage in defense due to a wide canal through which movements of the occupiers are visible.
According to American analysts, the occupiers have made minor gains north of Chasiv Yar, particularly they are moving towards Eastern Hryhorivka.
On the morning of August 31, at least five civilians of Chasiv Yar were killed as a result of Russian shelling.
