Boots limits recycling program: new rules for customers in September.

According to The Sun: Customers of the Boots chain of stores are outraged by the changes to the Recycle at Boots reward program. Now they need to activate and spend a £5 voucher on the same day they receive it, and the activation time has been shortened to five minutes.

“5 minutes? When the app takes the same time to load when you are in the store...”

“I will just activate it when I get to the checkout and let people suffer.”

Customers can bring five empty personal care, health, or beauty products and receive a £5 voucher with a purchase of £10 or more. The program has been praised as an eco-initiative, but its terms have now become more stringent.

The changes will not radically alter customer participation in the program, but they now need to be more decisive at the checkout to not miss out on their reward.
