Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson claims in his memoirs that Queen Elizabeth II died of bone cancer. He provided this information in his records titled Unleashed.
According to Johnson, he knew about Elizabeth II's illness for many months before his resignation in September 2022. Ultimately, the register of her death indicated that the cause was old age, and this was the first Time the politician publicly named another version.
Johnson also described his last meeting with the queen, emphasizing that she looked pale, hunched, and had bruises on her hands from medical procedures. But despite this, her mood did not suffer and she still smiled.
The ex-premier shared that the queen was aware of her impending death but was still determined to carry out her duties to the end, particularly the transfer of power to the new prime minister.
Elizabeth II died on September 8, her condition suddenly deteriorated just a few hours before. The death occurred at her Scottish residence Balmoral in the presence of her elder children. The official death certificate indicates that the cause was age.
Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96, becoming the oldest and longest-reigning monarch of Great Britain. The throne has now passed to her eldest son, Charles, and the state funeral ceremony took place on September 19.
