Struggle for Influence: China Displeased with DPRK and Russia's Rapprochement - Former Ambassador.
The Ukrainian ambassador to China, Igor Lytvyn, reported that China is displeased with the rapprochement between Russia and North Korea. He noted that Putin had not visited the DPRK for 24 years, but due to the necessity of arms, signed an agreement with him. Lytvyn also indicated that as soon as North Korea's old weapons run out, the relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK will change.
According to intelligence, several thousand North Korean military personnel are being trained in the Russian Federation, possibly for participation in combat operations against Ukraine.
Lytvyn also noted that Russia and North Korea have no other unity besides interest in arms and soldiers. He added that China is dissatisfied with the rapprochement of these countries and is trying to return North Korea to its sphere of influence.
According to Lytvyn's message, North Korea is using the relations between Russia and China for its interests, receiving material assistance from both sides. Last year, the trade turnover between China and North Korea was about 3 billion dollars.
Lytvyn suggests that China did not agree to arms supplies from North Korea to Russia. He emphasized that it is evident how China is concerned by these actions of North Korea, especially large arms shipments to the Russian Federation.
