According to The Sun: A Turkish boat dealer, who proudly called himself the 'king of smugglers', has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for organizing the transport of hundreds of thousands of people across the English Channel. Adem Savas, 45, made millions supplying inflatable boats, petrol engines, and life vests to smuggling gangs. He used his legitimate marine supply business in Turkey as a cover for his illegal activities.
“The king of smugglers” continuously claimed his influence in this matter.
His actions created numerous risks to the lives of migrants attempting to cross the channel in dangerous conditions. The court found him guilty of numerous crimes related to the organization of human smuggling and imposed a strict sentence.
